This is truly a shocking.

A lot of people just waking up to this news… I hate turning the tv or radio on and hearing someone has died.
Although, the news spread like wild fire, I was first told of this news development by a lady friend around 2am, who shook me out of my sleep to inform me of the news.
Urgh there is nothing worse than being woken up with bad news…
Me and my nieces were having some girly time in my bed watching tv when Aisha saw it on twitter that #RIP whitney houston was trending and she started laughing and says twitter has killed whitney off aswell… as they seem to be doing a lot these days… when i checked mines i quickly realised it wasn’t a joke…
I found this out the hard way last night…as I tried to drive by the Beverly Hilton and kept getting stuck behind news vans, police, and loads of tourists. So sad.
It must have been a mad rush for those who could make money out of hear death – the media.
I have no idea who this singer is… I guess she should be a good artist to become the first Billboard Top 100 woman Singer… RIP.

Indeed, during her era (at which point I was still in my nappy) she was a big pop-star and there were a whole generation who grew up for her music and her image.
Ya it is really shocking!
It feels really weird to see one person go missing so abruptly, so suddenly. It really sad!
What makes even more sad is the association of her death with prescription drugs.
It truly is shocking and sad too…dont understand why do ppl do this to themselves…one moment they r famous and the next moment they are battling with drug abuse and then they r dead!
The worst cocktail is the mix of fame, power and intoxications – the result is what happened to Whitney and Jackson.
I never heard of her before she died…that happens for so many people for me,. its strange when i think about it.
Unfortunately her work will be over shadowed by the cause of her death, it is often the case when such news turns out to be a superior news and more than the good work she had ever done.
Sad news indeed, however just another example of how the lifestyle of a “super pop star” (that she was) can consume one and eventually result in them departing in an ugly fashion. It makes you wonder what kind of people hang around with these stars and whether they look after them well. Apparently WH was in a 48-hr drink binge before she was found dead in her hotel room. I also think the culture in the US is very different from the UK, I think singers in the UK look after themselves much better, maybe to do with the lack of opportunities that come their way.
Regardless, it’s a waste of a talent who could have prolonged her singing career much further had she looked after herself. Her voice will be missed nonetheless.
I agree, I think there is a stark difference between UK and American pop-stars. In the UK it seems, at least, their habits are controlled and they tend to have respect for their reputation, image and fans. In my view, in America is quite the opposite, and once they reach the top, all respect for themselves and fans means nothing.
I’ve also noticed, when the pressure gets on the UK pop-stars, they seem to find salvation in America – or is it the freedom of abusing your power that attracts them – nonetheless once they arrive back in the UK, they are no where near as good or respectable as they were once.
